Rush for a Perfect 'REEL Life' than 'REAL Life'
In this IT era , our kids are first exposed to media then to the real things . My 3 years old saw a fish , octopus , hippo in his kids videos before he saw these animals in real . So I need to tell him this is real rhino or real duck. And from here the “real/reel” term came to my life . Sometimes my LO find the reality is so different from the video one.
Same is with us everything we plan it , we also look for the impact of it on our facebook life . Few days back in birthday party my friend and I went to the dessert counter and even before tasting it she first clicked few dozen of pics with that dessert, uploaded it with a tag “ Enjoying the Yummy dessert”. I looked at her blankly as she was busy in her fb page and dessert was untouched .I was thinking like “what kind of enjoyment was that ? ” , even while eating it her attention was more towards the comments and likes than to the desserts. I felt sorry for her; likes and comments cannot replicate the joy we experience from indulging in that dessert :(
Not teaching you the impact of social media but definitely want to make a point that socializing at media is good but not at the cost of real experiences. Don’t try to judge ones life only from FB ,it is not at all related . Every one is enjoying his or her life at their own levels don’t try to compare your situation with others just on FB. don’t set criteria for your happiness by the likes /comments on FB. Getting an expensive foreign trip is not only enjoyment , a trip to your close aunty is also relaxing . People abroad might never feel it , so better look at what we have than to what others have.
The Glamorized World of Reel Life
Reel life, whether it's the latest blockbuster movie or a binge-worthy TV series, is designed to captivate and entertain us. It offers a carefully constructed narrative with dramatic twists, captivating characters, and often extraordinary scenarios. Here are some notable characteristics of reel life:
Idealized Characters: In the world of reel life, characters often possess superhuman qualities, impeccable looks, and unattainable charm. They are larger than life, representing the best of what society often values.
High-Stakes Drama: Conflict and drama are essential ingredients in most stories. The tension, suspense, and climactic resolutions make for compelling storytelling but rarely reflect the subtleties of everyday life.
Spectacular Locations: Reel life takes us to breathtaking locations around the world, creating a visual feast for the audience. These locales are carefully selected to enhance the narrative and visual appeal.
Romanticized Relationships: Romantic relationships in movies often follow an idealized trajectory, filled with grand gestures and epic declarations of love. The reality of day-to-day relationships can be quite different.
Time Compression: Reel life often condenses time, enabling characters to undergo significant transformations or accomplish incredible feats within a short period.
Real Life: Embracing the Ordinary
Real life, on the other hand, is where we live our everyday existence. It's a complex tapestry of routines, responsibilities, challenges, and genuine human connections. Here are some aspects that distinguish real life from reel life:
Authenticity: Real life is characterized by authenticity. People are imperfect, and life is filled with ups and downs. Accepting this imperfection is a key aspect of navigating real life.
Subtle Moments: While reel life is packed with dramatic events, real life is often marked by subtle, meaningful moments that can be easily overlooked if we're not present in the moment.
Everyday Locations: Most of us live our lives in ordinary places. While these may not be as visually stunning as movie sets, they hold a unique charm and significance.
Complex Relationships: Real-life relationships are multifaceted, with their fair share of challenges and joys. They require effort, understanding, and patience.
Pacing: Real life unfolds at its own pace. Goals are achieved through consistent effort over time, rather than in a single heroic act.
Navigating the Contrasts
While it's enjoyable to escape into the world of reel life for entertainment and inspiration, it's essential to maintain a healthy perspective. Here are some strategies to navigate the contrasts between reel life and real life:
Embrace Reality: Understand that real life is not a scripted narrative. Embrace the beauty of its imperfections and the authenticity it offers.
Manage Expectations: Recognize that reel life is often a form of artistic expression and entertainment, not a blueprint for how life should be.
Mindful Consumption: Be mindful of the media you consume. Enjoy reel life but remember that it's a curated version of reality.
Prioritize Relationships: Invest time and effort in nurturing real-life relationships. They may not be as dramatic as in movies, but they are deeply meaningful.
Set Realistic Goals: Pursue your aspirations in real life with patience and persistence. Success is often the result of consistent effort over time.
Reel life and real life each have their own unique characteristics and charm. While it's natural to be inspired and entertained by the glamour of reel life, it's crucial to maintain a grounded perspective and embrace the authenticity of real life. By doing so, we can find a balance that allows us to appreciate both worlds and lead fulfilling lives enriched by the experiences of both reel and real life. Everything have its own unique enjoyment .Whatever you are getting , try to enjoy that phrase . Feel the wind on your face , breathe the breeze. Get the real fun, indulge yourselves with in before updating in on social media . :) You experience it first before getting other’s experience for same .
