Dear MIL , I will not stop being me
Every single time you tried to put me down I got a better personality of my own. Thanks to you, I will never give up. No matter how hard you tried to do that. All the tricks you play to make me feel down by praising each and every bahu of your so-called khaandaan (your maayka to be précise) I will not put myself down.
Ladies, you have to develop a sense that you are special on your own and you are incomparable to anyone in this world. It would have been better if you would have talked about other sons in the family as it can give your son a better vision to grow. I don’t say I am perfect, but neither are you. If a bahu can live with all the odds of your entire family, why can’t you live with my odds?
As soon I got married, I tried to be my best but was very tender. So, I was shattered by your comparison with others. Sooner I realized that no matter what I do, I will never change your opinion. So, I changed mine. I am now very firm that I will not stop being me. I will always be a jolly person and no one can come between me and my happiness. I will do all my duties and fulfill my responsibilities, but with zero expectation. As life has given me many chances on which I have come up with flying colors, so sticking to your comments is not important to me now. I am growing in every possible way- conquering my fears, getting better in cooking, dancing, and learning new things, and so on…
I have a long way to go rather than crying because of your comments and comparisons.
